Why I Am A Dallas Cowboys Fan?
Robert "Bullet Bob" Hayes adopted our Deerpath Park, in South Oak Cliff. He would swim with us kids, play basketball with us kids, and even run some 100 yeard sprints with some of South Oak Cliff's fastest track stars, like, Donnie "Quick Draw" McGraw, Dobie Jefferson, my uncle Roger "Trigger" Waites, and few other wanna bees. Hayes smoked all of them!

Why I Am A Dallas Cowboys Fan?
The Dallas Cowboys player that everyone use to love to hate, Duane Thomas, I personally, learned was a pretty good old guy. As a gym rat balling everyday with DeWayne Scales, Vernon Smith, and others out of Singing Hills Recreation Center, including, little Spud Web, sometimes, I would leave and run a liitle bit with Duane Thomas around the field in front of our rec.
He was, later, a great help to me when I sustained an injury on my job as a grounds keeper in the townhomes we both resided in, and I needed him to drive me places during my recovery time. A real down to earth man is Duane. Now, you can collect a few of my genuine America's Team apparel and gift items at:

Why I Am A Dallas Cowboys Fan?
When I attended Job Corps, in 1978-79, because I was a bad boy, Preston Pearson, Robert Newhouse, and John Riggins, came down to do a United Way commercial that I was asked to participate in -- in "Retailing". I had a chance to really chat with the guys I saw as my heroes, but never saw the commercial on television as promised.

Why I'm A Dallas Cowboys Fan?
owe Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson a favor for encouraging me and one of my club hopping partners back in tha days to go for it on three beautiful young ladies sitting at his bar bwaiting for him to say a word or two to them at the club he once owned at Knox, and Henderson. That last street name "sealed the deal" with Thomas as far as location -- you think?

San Diego Chargers Wide Out John "J.J." Jefferson
John Washington, who changed and took up his father's name after turning pro, attended middle school with me at Oliver Wendell Holmes, as well as the long time NFL feild player interviewer, Pam Oliver. I didn't know John that well because I was a wanna be lady's man who thought he had big game for baseball, where I was a pitcher, and basketball, where I love to hit the 3's. I won a trip to watch the Texas Rangers play in the early 70's from winning a most valuable player trophy for my team in the Summer League I use to play in as a youngster. There was also talk about offering me a Simi Pro contract. And yes, I was on Channel 8 Sports later that night. You know kids really look forward to seeing themselves on TV.

Ohio State Buckeyes QB Rod "Crow" Gerald
Do remember the first black Quarterback Ohio St had in Rod Gerald back in 1977? Well, the last time I was with my partner, Crow, after being asked by his wife, Debra, to come over and try to inspire him to ride with me on my projects, he started calling me "Big" brother. Crow is a good man within his spirit, and a hustler who taught me to bless a stranger while I was being bllessed in all my agressions. We felt like Robin Hood. Crow was also responsible for providing his brother, then, Pastor Mickey Gerald's church for laying my mother to rest, in 2001, when I had no one else to turn to. I was not charged.

My Son & Friends
My son, Arron, the one in the white t with his head down, and looking away, stands at 6 feet, and 4 inches. He reminds me alot of me when I was young mover and shaker who though he had it all under control. He's his own man, but I will always love my family, even, when I get no love from them. Being on SSI, I believe it's that way with my country. I'm living back on the streets without it. Now isn't that sad?

Mrs. Johnnie Jewel Mathis Justice ( Stanley's Mother )
The smartest and wisest woman to ever be a part of my life is my mother. My mother was a tough lady in my eyes who put the fear of GOD in me when she became angry. A lady, who, when she was pregnant with me in 1957, was offered an Academic Scholarship to attend the University of Texas, but our family was too poor for her to accept it because she was needed to work the cotton fields with her two other brothers, one, name Johnny Mathis. Can you see a resemblance? Just kidding!

Shmuel Hezi ( a.k.a., Samuel Hezi, Sam Hezi, and Sunny Hays )
Simply put, Sam is me very best, and most trusted friend in the world. A man, who on the first night we were introduced, prophesied I would become a great poet if I wrote poetry, and, because he saw things in me that others couldn't identify, Sam asked me to represent him in America. He told me I could sale ice cream to an Eskimo. What do you think?

My First Love Poetry Print
This poetry print was inspired by the we all have for our mothers. My mother is the only person who really knew me as a humanitarian, though, I lived like a thug/playa/con for much of my young adult life. But I'm the one she chose to lay her to rest.
